Andy’s Server

Welcome to my home server. It is just a regular combination of PC hardware, plus a unix operating system and server applications. It is located in my garage and is on for 24 hours a day.



CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7200 running at 2.53GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
Hard disk: 2 x 500GB configured in a RAID 1 array
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Server Edition
Hostname: piglet
Web server: Apache and PHP with Suhosin Patch. This allows me to run things like opensource photo organizers and other cool apps making use of the MySQL database that I run.

There are also a lot of other useful goodies on here, including a Samba Server, an FTP server, a Streaming Media Server and a DNS server.
